The Interreg IPA Romania-Serbia Programme has been submitted for approval to the European Commission

Yesterday, March 3rd 2022, the first European funded programme, for which Romania fulfills the role of Managing Authority, within the Cohesion Policy 2021-2027, has been submitted for approval to the European Commission.

Thus, the Interreg IPA Romania-Serbia 2021-2027 Programme was officially sent for approval to the European Commission.

Immediately after the approval of the Programme by the European Commission, the Monitoring Committee will approve the documents required to launch the first call for project proposals.

In the period 2021-2027, Romania is acting as Managing Authority for the Interreg IPA Romania-Serbia 2021-2027 Programme, which will have a total budget of 87,725,681 euro and will finance projects in the field of environmental protection and climate change, health and education, tourism and culture and border management.

The financing for these priorities will be 85% of the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA III), 13% national co-financing, provided by the Romanian state budget and 2% own contribution of the Romanian beneficiaries. The Serbian beneficiaries will provide the 15% co-financing as own contribution.

The eligible area of ​​the programme includes three counties in Romania (Timiș, Caraş-Severin and Mehedinţi), as well as six districts in Serbia (Severno Banatski, Srednje Banatski, Južno Banatski, Braničevski, Borski and Podunavski).

In order to ensure a transparent framework for institutional collaboration, starting with October 2019, the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration organized consultations with the stakeholders in the Programme area and posted on the Programme website www.romania-serbia.net, for public consultation, all documents related to the programming process.
