Interreg-IPA Cross-border Cooperation Romania-Serbia Programme: the ninth meeting of the Joint Monitoring Committee

On Wednesday, December 7, the ninth meeting of the Joint Monitoring Committee of the Interreg-IPA Cross-border Cooperation Romania-Serbia Programme 2014-2020 was held online.

During this meeting, topics related to the implementation of the current programme and the next funding period were discussed as follows:

  • The stage of the implementation of the financed projects and the use of the resulting savings to date;
  • The stage of implementation of programme communication and promotion activities, including the presentation of the launch events of the new programme and the first call for project proposals and informing potential applicants;
  • The stage of implementation of measures from the Action Plan, follow-up of Programme evaluations from 2014-2020;
  • Draft Action Plan for closing the Interreg-IPA Cross-border Cooperation Romania-Serbia Programme 2014-2020.

During the discussions, the representatives of the Management Authority highlighted that a number of projects from the reserve list of the second call for project proposals were contracted from the savings resulting from the implementation of the programme.

Within the Interreg-IPA Cross-border Cooperation Romania-Serbia Programme 2014-2020, 82 projects have been contracted so far, with a value of 74.8 million Euros (European Union funds) representing 99.6% of the programme budget and the absorption rate is 85.62%.

The payments granted to the beneficiaries of the programme are currently in the amount of 65.9 million Euros, representing 88% of the total budget of the programme.

The sums received from the European Commission totalled 74.9 million Euros, representing 100% of the programme allocation.
