The Joint Monitoring Committee of the Programme will meet in the next period in order to approve the necessary documents for the launch of the Programme, including the Applicants`Guide for the first call for proposals, estimated to be launched in September 2015 (project proposals – axes 1-4, allocated IPA budget of 27,8 million euro; strategic project proposals, allocated IPA budget of 22,4 million euro).
Interreg IPA Cross-border Cooperation Romania – Serbia Programme continues to finance the cross-border cooperation in the Romania-Serbia border area through the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA II), with the support of the European Union and the governments of the two states.
The eligible area of the Programme consists of Timiș, Caraș Severin and Mehedinți counties (from Romania) and the Severno Banatski, Srednje Banatski, Južno Banatski, Braničevski, Borski, Podunavski districts (from Serbia).
The total budget of the Programme is 88.124.999 euro, out of which the grant from European Union funds is 74.906.248 euro. For the 2014-2020 period, the Programme will finance projects on 4 priority axes, in the fields of employment promotion and basic services strengthening for an inclusive growth – 18 million euro, environmental protection and risk management – 21 million euro, sustainable mobility and accessibility – 21 million euro and attractiveness for sustainable tourism – 18 million euro.
Romania continues to perform the role of Managing Authority (through the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration), the National Authority is established in the Serbian European Integration Office – within the Serbian Government, and the Joint Secretariat is organized in Timişoara, within the Regional Office for Cross-border Cooperation Timişoara, being sustained by a Joint Secretariat Antenna in Vršac, Republic of Serbia.
The audit for the Programme will be performed by the Audit Authority within the Court of Accounts from Romania and the certifying attributions will be performed by the Managing Authority.
