The European Commission has launched the seventh edition of the contest RegioStars. The competition aims to identify and reward innovative projects financed from EU Cohesion Policy, ERDF, ESF, CF and IPA.
This year, organizers have proposed five categories of awards:
Smart Growth: SME innovation
Sustainable Growth: Green growth and jobs through Bio-economy
Inclusive Growth: Creating jobs for the young generation
CityStar: Investment projects in sustainable urban public transport
Major Investment Projects: Energy efficiency and the low carbon economy
Each Managing Authority of the National Programmes may submit a maximum of 2 candidacy per region: one candidacy for categories 1, 2 or 3 and one candidacy for categories 4 or 5.
The deadline for submission of applications is 19 April 2013. Winners will be announced at a ceremony that will take place in early 2014, in Brussels.
